Around the Island

Maui is justly famous for its beaches and scenic coastal drives. Even if you have no intention of getting into the water, you can relax and watch visitors and locals challenging the waves. Winter brings surfers, and Spring beckons wind-surfers. Boogie boarding is popular year round, but the inexperienced should heed warnings about undertow. It's a great place to catch a sunset after a long drive to the Haleakala crater
